the Korea Memorial is very poignant, down by the Lincoln Memorial

Arlington is only worth a trip if you're deeply into military history and/or are lucky to catch a full honours military funeral. They pay their respects well.

Jefferson memorial makes a nice backdrop for photos at sunset.

If DC is a serious option, one of my colleagues used to work their so ought to know the good places to eat etc.
