Baker is 11 1/2 years late in making his 'witty' comments, and the change in US attitudes back then has already had a massive positive impact on the situation in N Ireland.

Doubtless there are a few die-hards that still support the IRA, but would people be saying 'fair point' if an American commentator had said we deserved July 7th because of the views of some of the Islamic community in the UK?

On which note, I bet "the UK" is currently raising as much funding for Islamic terrorism as "the US" ever did for the IRA.

People like Baker shouldn't be rushing to get on their high horses over this one. The average Bostonian / American carries as much responsibility for funding terrorism as the average Londoner / Briton currently does.
