they would have talked anyway, because they were the two most important people, in the world. The Cold War ended because the Soviet system was unsustainable - it had been collapsing for years and was always going to do so with or without Reagan and Thatcher.
Iran and North Korea are pretty feeble arguments for our nuclear deterrant. Neither (whatever ther undoubted unpleasantness) are hell-bent on world domination. They feel they need nukes because they are scared s**tless of the ones WE have.
