I think he is meant to be more of an attacking midfielder isn't he?

probably doesn't suit his game to be a tackler/defensive midfielder. Agree that he seems to be useless on the face of it, but willing to bet he is still a good player if played to his strengths - although I'm not sure what they are supposed to be.
