All of that is wrong.

Player of the Season: Darren Huckerby

Obviously the problem with their assessment of Francis has been widely discussed. Huckerby was playing in a 4-2-4 formation, not a 4-5-1. When did we play 4-5-1? Villa away?

Most Improved Player: Leon McKenzie

Hope for the Future: Ashton or Jason Shackell.

The Letdown: David Bentley or Mattias Jonson.
Helveg played well at right-back towards the end of the season, and occasionally at the start (WBA away springs to mind) - he was inconsistent but the defence improved markedly (at home, anyway) once he was back in it.

Bentley, on the other hand, never came close to living up to his (self-proclaimed) potential, and Jonson, although mis-used, did nothing all season.

Worthington - numerous tactical errors, extremely poor command of substitutions, reasonable in the transfer market and generally a good man-manager, and questionable team selection throughout.

Ho hum ...
