Ok - serious reply - read on
Of course the players share the blame, they are ones that go out and play, they are the ones who who have to deliver, they are the ones who get paid huge salaries, they are the ones who get there legs broken, heads cracked etc, they are the ones who get put out to grass when they reach their mid 30s.
I don't think I would critisise the PHYSICAL effort that any of our players put in. They all look pretty shagged out at the end of the games to me. Some are less able than others - but I wouldn't criticise them for that either. What's JJ supposed to say on match day? "Please Boss don't pick me I'm s**t". This guy gets picked to play in a position he's not comfortable in he goes off and does it as best he can. Who's fault is that, his, or the manager?
After a while if a player is picked, dropped, play in midfield play in defence, play here, play there, you're on the transfer list, no you're not you're back in the team, you're on the bench etc etc - a player may loose some of his MENTAL committment.
Ultimately it is the Manager Job (for which he is paid a huge salary) to control all of this and ensure the players are bot physically and mentally prepared.
Rant over.
