it's a big old country Mexico with lots of regions dominated by indigenous folk with a huge range of regional foods.
Its just that most Mexican restaurants are based on Tex-mex food, which is simply not as good nor as varied.
Ive eaten a lot of truly bizarre dishes in Mexico that you'll never find anywhere else.
Go there, you won't regret it*
