We could spend 30 million quid on new strikers

but if we won't set up in such a way as to create anything for them we may as well play the f**king Sugababes up front.

before the start, seeing benno and Snodds in the same team, I thought Good-oh, we're going to have a go, try to get behind them, try to turn them round, give them something to think about. But it was Newcastle Part Two, prodding it around exploratively in midfield and getting absolutely nowhere at all.

After Liverpool came to ours, I despaired at Hoots standing on the touchline apparently having no idea what to do about it. A few weeks later I conceded that it may've been the players' fault, as things had evidently improved. Today, he seemed once again to have not a scooby about what to do.

On the strength of the two games vs Liverpool, I wonder if he doesn't change things because he's cautious to a fault, or if he simply hasn't got a second idea. If the former, we should be all right. If the latter, oh dear indeed.

Actually I think we may have been worse in the home game. That's an afterthought.
