we are one of the favourites to get relegated because...

in 10 league games this season we have managed to score more than 1 goal only once.. If we can't change that, even given our improved defence, we very probably will get relegated.

While the teams at the bottom look poor so far I have seen nothing about them to suggest they aren't quite capable of beating us if we score 1 goal or less (especially when they are playing at home, given that we haven't kept a clean sheet away in the Prem since the War of the Roses or something).
