I'm sure there may have been clashes at senior level but

I am convinced that any issues between Lambert and the board have been retrospectively built up by his team to justify him walking out on us. I do not believe for one minute that they made any difference to him going. The fact he nearly walked out on us for Burnley tells you all you need to know about him and he was angling for that Villa job from the off.

Its no coincidence that in the 48 hours immediately surrounding his departure all these stories suddenly started surfacing. All coming from the Lambert camp via journalists to try and make him look less of a c**t and presumably aid his constructive dismissal case. Unfortunately, as Mcnally has alienated quite a few people, there were several who were prepared to believe/spread it.

The personal stuff about his wife was after he had left wasn't it?

Great manager for us but I was delighted to see him look so unconvincing after the match when interviewed and genuinely think he may be gone from there before Christmas. If he is then thats no bad thing for us as sends the message that the grass is not always greener at a so called "bog club".
