Doesn't mean it was his first choice to end up there.

I reckon there's more to it than meets the eye, and ultimately those two egos in one club was never going to last. You could see Lambert's seething when McNally did the same thing when burnley came sniffing. Second time around and with lambert's stock at an all time high why would he accept someone else determining his future for him?
