I went in the late 70s/early 80s

Like most there was the odd scuffle from time to time but nothing serious if, like me, you weren't actually interested in the violence. Basically if you wanted a fight it was very easy to find one; if you didn't (like me) it was almost always possible to stay out of trouble, though there was generally some undercurrent or other. It was very different from today. Part of the adrenaline, like the hooooge rushes when we scored which if I'm honest terrified me from time to time, though looking back they were exhilarating and I miss them.
