Squad depth - curious selections etc

What I find slightly odd about us this season is that we have a squad which, while not including 'Premier League stars' as such, has a depth that could see us practically field two teams and barely see a drop in potential/quality.

Here's a side that would see nine of the 10 outfield players from the Liverpool game dropped - arguably a better XI?

I can't ever remember a time like this, particularly in terms of midfield depth. but does Hughton see it like this. To me we have 20-odd players who could merit regular starts but has Hughton already placed them in different tiers in his mind?
