I'm an England fan and I want us to do well - but, without wishing to get particularly nihilistic about it all, we will now go through an identical 18 month cycle in which we dispose of small sides with varying levels of conviction before heading off to a major tournaments to get shat on by the first half decent team we play. 95% of all interenational games are against crap teams, 99% of them are boring as f**k.
