I disagree, it wasn't a huge disappointment in the end

The squad was basically in shape, to the limits of our purse, except we were short in the attacking dept. It'd have been disappointing if we'd failed to bring in one (or more) faces up front, but we did get someone. It wasn't necessary to bring someone in to replace the strikers we have - we'd need proper money for that - but it was IMHO essential to head off the possibility of playing with non-strikers up front.

As for Mr Kane, I know nothing about him other than that Spuds were wiling to go on this season with only three forwards, including Kane. Any new striker is a gamble, and I reckon a young and promising gamble is preferable to an experienced but not in huge demand one.

i think it went well, tho we had to wait.
