Passport update...
I was amazed to discover that the UK Passport helpline is actually based in Ireland... and they are useless and gave me wrong information during several calls. Why is a foreign country dealing with the UK passport issues when we have millions of unemployed in this country?
To cut a very long story short, the British embassy abroad and Home office have been superb and because of them I should get a passport tomorrow.
It seems my Dad has got through his op OK but he hasn't been told how bad it really is. He should live for a while.
My problem now is that other relatives are telling me not to go to visit my Dad in hospital abroad as it might stress him out. One even said I was being selfish and only thinking of myself because I want to go to see him. It feels like whatever I do will be wrong.
