You get something difficult to define from where you grow up, I think.

Ways to react to things, mannerisms, patterns of speech. All combines into a package that you can recognise.

Tribal thing I guess. We evolved a way to quickly see who is one of "us". But then we've got abilities born of sentience like empathy and compassion that allow us to bypass that and accept otherness when we recognise that.
