Meares was taken from the second leg, after trouncing Pendleton in it, for moving off her line. She'd already won the first leg, so had beaten Pendleton at that point.

Pendleton then won the decider by the width of a tyre. So she was pretty lucky, basically (although she did win, by the rules).

You're right that Pendleton looks on good form. But Meares is a legend.
