I'd have kept Svenny if that was the choice

But as I said at the time, we've got youngsters waiting in the wings - even some with Prem experience - an ideal opportunity to really see what they could do. And, once again, it was a matter of priorities - midfielders & central defenders we needed; strikers we did not. And to top it off, when Thorne hasn't been injured he's either been brought on to play on the right wing (!) or for the last ten minutes in sheer desperation as we've searched for a late winner or equaliser.
