Nice one, they'll strengthen your ankle

If you have them in all footwear, in the long term, you'll go over like you did, but you'll take the force of it (sometimes you'll sort of spring back up)

I went over 'badly' last year, and fell slightly. I continued the long walk I was doing, but waited for the swelling down the outside that night

Next morning it was there, but it was only slight

I did used to sprain my ankle a lot when I was a teen though, before being told it was arches. Nearing mid 30's I do pay for that a bit with some achilles aching now and again. I also have Plantar Fasciitis on the same ankle, which comes and goes (depending if I've been stood up for for hours and hours in a day, over long term periods of time). Rest usually calms that (meeky alerted me to that on here when I was asking why it feels like I can't walk for the 1st 5 minutes of the day, then I'm fine)

Hope the arches work

For the record, I think you were still right to go to A and E. The pain of ligament swelling is probably worse than a broken bone (I waited a week before I went to get an x ray for a broken bone, because I thought it was just ligament swelling)
