I want England to win.
However perhaps the opportunities for me to enjoy it aren't quite what they were.
In 1996 I was in my mid 20s, (just as my parents were in 66) living in a flat in west London with friends. I went to the Spain QF, everywhere was going bananas about the whole thing and it was just the most perfect time to win something.
But we blew it and nothing has been quite the same since. We were faily decent in 2002 and 2004 but I think I knew, after the latter, that this particular boat had sailed. I knew then that winning something would be great, but it would never quite feel the same as it could have done.
Just so happens we've been f**king useless since then anyway!
