He should have also made a giant effort to convince Paul Scholes to come along. International tournaments are won with quality midfields. I'm not saying Scholes would have been convinced,but I would have been looking to build the team around him for this tournament, England don't have anybody else who can control the game like him.

I don't see the point in playing that kind of dire football because it rarely works long term or even short term (Greece are an exception). I would have liked to see Roy take England's overlooked technically gifted players and begin a new outlook. We might as well write of this tournament because Roy hasn't had the required preperation time or the available depth in quality for RIGHT NOW.

I would just like to see us approach the international game the right way for once. We could well beat England, but essentially it will be a small victory in the scale of things. I'd ratther England try something different, kepp the ball and didplay some creative qualities. This current England squad is dire and fills me with no confidence for the future.
