You can't just become a free agent one day in any other place and start somewhere else tomorrow. Comes down to contract terms of course but I've heard it mentioned that he was on gardening leave, I would have thought that McNally would have ensured a notice period in the contract even if there was permission to speak to certain clubs, after all, if it's a 12 month rolling contract then that's the notice period right? So he isn't a free agent at all. If we sack him we have to pay him and if he walks out the contract has to be paid up.
