From what Lambert has said in the past, Culverhouse plays a bigger part
than your typical backroom staff member. Taking control of full first team coaching, identifying players to sign, deciding on tactics during a game. Maybe not a total coincidnce that Lambert failed at Livingston but has been a success everywhere since culverhouse and karsa came on board with him
