Do we need someone like Lambert to replace Lambert?
By that I mean the criteria which McNally laid down last time:
Young up and coming manager
Experience as a player at the highest level
Now that we are established in the Premier League (well up to a point anyway) is there now a different skillset required? Last time we were bringing a manager in to League One. This time there is a world of difference and it is too simplistic to say he will just repeat the method and pluck another rising star from down the divisions.
You can do that with players and let them bed in. But Premier League managers really need to know what they are doing.
