Its not a great time to buy an iPhone as the new one is likely only a few months away

The new iPhone will probably be out around September or October. If you want now then the 4S is still a good phone.

Samsung Galaxy phones are powerful but feel cheap and nasty.

For Android I'd go with the HTC One X or for Windows I'd go with the Nokia Lumia 800 or Lumia 900.
