Players of that age playing in the top two English tiers will always command large transfer fees, that's media hype combined with English delusions of grandeur for you, apparently any half decent young English player is the next big thing at one point or another!
Look at that young Crewe striker, only eighteen and played less than sixty league two games, yet Man U are reported to have put in a ?4 million bid for him. Ridiculous. That's not to say that he's crap, the lad clearly has talent.
