Makes sense. With Ayala also seemingly injury prone we can Ill afford another season changing defense so much and having 2 players with a high chance of being injured for significant period of time.

Clearly Zak is superior to Ward but Ward can be important cover and seems to be important for team morale with Alby going Lambert won't be willing to lose too many characters. Also zak will command steep wages and a long term deal whereas Ward may be happier to sign up on a 1-2 year deal.

Lambert clearly has set his sights on a top class CB likely Curtis Davies.

So massive thanks to Zak and Alby fir what they did for our club. sorry to see Zak go but ILWT.

P.S anybody know how many spaces we now have in our 25 squad presuming nobody is sold??
