a lot of crap is dished out about Hamiltons signings

Abbey was unlucky with Injury, but was a heft price to pay at the time for ?350,000

But what was Abbey, he was a poor substitute signing for the real player the club wanted Lua Lua

So he turned his head to Ian Moore, who didn't want to leave lancashire, so he turned his head to David Healy and man utd quoted ?2million, so he settled for Notman as that was the budget for the club at the time

After that it was loans and frees if he wanted anything, so he took a risk with De Waard, Giallanza (who was mega unfortunate), Cottee, Anselin.......

Yeah they didn't work out, deep down there wasn't a lot out there for nothing

Worthington takes over as caretaker and the club gets the man Hamilton was tracking for months Holt, for ?100,000 on the day Hamilton is sacked

He struggles through the rest of the season and gets ?500,000 on the spot for Emblen, then goes and gets rivers for ?650,000, Cricton for ?150,000, Easton for ?200,000, Libra on trial, as well as the breaking form of Kenton and Mcveigh coming through

Now I agree Hamilton wasn't the best, but he and others before never got that type of injection into the team, and its a vital factor

Just look at last season with us at Forest, then one loan signing of Huckerby a day later and the results started flowing

Its very unfair I think that the managers before Worthington are so easily seen as the villains, and the board are the shining lights in all this
