I think so

bear in mind that before he got injured we had a completely unsettled back four with barnett getting games and martin filling at centre back we had so many injuries. Since we've had drury we've had whitbread consistently fit, bennett has come back in, ayala was there at the start and ward has now come back into contention. I think it's fair to say that our defence looked more shakey back then, but certainly not that drury is clearly the better defensive player.

I keep thinking about how good it would be to see a back four of tierney/bennett/naughton and ayala, ward or whitbread.

I also think that tierney brings more to the team than just his attacking and defensive play, he's clearly a motivator, covers well and often picks up the slack if the team are a bit lacklustre, for example Everton away
