Howson is an attacking midfielder, not a ball winning enforcer. As for Ward, you think he's up to it? Ayala or Martin to partner the outstanding Whitbread for me, they've both proved more than capable at CB this season (Martin not so much at RB). Martin was available today, but there you go. I've just noticed a lot of the good work our defence has done since January has come undone in the last few games. Ward has been involved in these games and making clear mistakes, coincidence?
