Best way to learn

If you have no data on there, you've got nothing to lose! (Just make sure that you've got the Windows discs, just in case!).

Device Manager; go to Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager and look for anything with a cross next to it (disabled) or an exclaimation mark (Problem). Right-click, Properties, and it should tell you what it's problem is Otherwise look through the tabs.

If you have specific problems, try googling them. It's bound to have flummoxed someone before!
