Why do people interpret his gripes as being with the club?

Seems to me like his issue is more with the state of play in football in general. He's realistic, I'm sure he knows that the club are backing him and that if they can't stretch to something it's for a good reason. It's not just a question of paying out a little extra to get someone in, if we bring someone in on big wages it'll upset the balance both in terms of wages and the psychology of the team, and that's something I could never see Lambert doing given how important that balance has been
