Bradley Johnson Q&A
Was Johnson headbutted? No.
Did Barton use his head to square up to Johnson? Yes.
Is this an offense? Yes.
Did Johnson exaggerate this so that Swarbrick would see it? Maybe but he didn't go down and he walked away. I think Norwich players were as surprised that Swarbrick stopped play as anyone else.
Was Johnson trying to get Barton sent off? I doubt it but he was he trying to wind up a player who is notoriously easy to wind up.
Is this against the rules? No, Barton has an issue with self-discipline. That's his problem, not Johnson's.
Is cheating 'ingrained' in Norwich, as one QPR seether put it? Well, if trying to persuade Swarbrick NOT to send off Barton is cheating, then Grant Holt is quite clearly and visibly seen on camera 'cheating'.
Is the 'Barton your breath stinks' picture immature? Oh, for sure.
But is it funny? If aimed at anyone else, no. When aimed at Barton, yes. Using the medium of Twitter to make fun of Joey Barton is quite ingenious. But immature, yes.
Will he get in trouble for it? Undoubtedly.
Will it give QPR ammunition to criticise us? Yes.
Is this a bad thing? No, because all it will do is encourage QPR to play the victim throughout the season and if Warnock, Barton et al are not prepared to look at what is not working in THEIR team and to try and FIX what is not working in their team, rather than pinning the blame on everyone else and to make excuses, then they will continue to lose games and they will go down. The simple fact is that QPR are not winning games. They have spent more money than Swansea and more money than us and yet their team does not play as a team. Teams are beating them because teams are better than them. Our team cost barely anything, few of our players have Premiership experience and yet the fact that we are competing against bigger clubs and getting the results that they are not means that we must be cheating. Let QPR think that, let them go down.
