but basically his defence is valid when it comes to the word 'Negrito' not being offensive, nicknames in South America tend to be very blunt sometimes and based on how someone looks. Race is a very different issue in South America to what it is in North America and the UK. Culturally and historically there are big differences and that's before we get onto language. I personally don't think Suarez meant it in a racist way, I do believe he was, as usual, being a c**t though and was trying to wind Evra up. I am going to see how this develops and might write a piece on it, with the help of Worz but it's well worth reading Tim Vickery's piece on BBC site. User Posted Link
