one other problem i think is that there is still a good deal of money about - its how we spend it that is part of the problem - the NHS is a perfect example - i would love to see nurses better paid (i think they deserve it) and rather fewer managers etc - there has been an enormous increase in the number of public sector (Labour voting ... I wonder why) employees in the last 10 years, without in many cases increasing the standard of the service. We need to spend more sensibly - but achieving that is not easy. Having said that, ?9 billion international aid anyone ...??
