My point, thinly disguised as it may have been,

is that most people are not aware of some of the basic fundemental issues that affect all pensions, private or public sector, personal or state pensions. There's a demographic time-bomb that has been known about, and should have been dealt with twenty years ago.

There's no point in blame (which is rather like saying there's no point in politics), but a level of understanding would go some way towards finding a solution, and would help to cool the raging public/private sector seething, from both sides, which is certainly not helping anyone.
