It is right actually
Though as always with english there is no hard and fast rule
One way (eg St James's Park) is old fashioned and the other way (eg St James' Park) is more modern
But I can't remeber which is which. The fact that I personally favour the single S approach probably means that that is old fashioned but it might not
Fowler sets it all out in Modern English Usage, I think using the St James's Park example, but I can't remember which way round he says is old fashioned
Anyway, either is permissible
And I want an apology in re Jenny
