their plan B is often to bring Fernando Llorente on who provides them with height in the box and good link up play bringing the advancing midfielders into the game, I assume Del Bosque didn't think this would effective but he did take off Busquets and added an extra striker. Today though they didn't really start with their strongest XI remember. Pedro and Xavi add a lot to that team when they play. Pedro especially provides them with pace and width in behind.
