burner/writer = same thing in my book.

OEM ( can't remember what it stands for ) means that you don't get any fancy packaging, cables, screws, manuals, etc. but the product is the same only cheaper. Best option if you are going for a replacement.

The one I highlighted will do almost anything, including reading and writing in + or - formats; check what your standalone jobby can read and then write your disks in that format.

On blank disks, R means you can write to it only once, RW means you can keep rewriting over and over ( like a video tape ).
