What's the difference between...

a burner and a writer? (i know the obvious - burner = permanent)

What does OEM mean? I guess i could...ahem... 'borrow' someone else's software?

Am i going to be able to play these DVDs on my standalone DVD player, or do i need a burner? I guess it is down to the spec of my DVD player?
