There are numerous ways edges have been obtained in Roulette
Biased wheel.
Most wheels are hand made, they have been known to develop a bias, either in the track around the edge where the ball spins or the pockets that hold the ball.
Watch a wheel next time closely and see if you can spot a slight warp.

In the UK devices were legal and its possible to predict where the ball will land witha computer.....

Other countries have different device laws but Blackjack computers and roulette computers have been used in the UK for years.
There are numerous other ways to get an edges as well.
Not every wheel is beatable but anumber are.....I played a very biased wheel a few years ago and won quite a bit before they fixed it.
