when you pay a player five times what the manager is getting you are basically saying the player is much more valuable than the manager.

It totally undermines the authority of the position.

Mancini can claim that Tevez will be sacked...... but guess what...... won't happen.
Man City are not going to give up 25-40M of equity even as rich as they are.

Mancini will be told by the owners to get him playing again.

Paul Lambert has one of the best jobs in football here....it might take him going somewhere else to realize that?

FWIW I think he will leave within the next year.
