Beer made from malted wheat, rather than malted barley.

Actually, a lot of wheat beers have a large percentage of barley in them, as well as the wheat.

And they're fermented with different strains of yeast to lagers or ales, so that flavours of clove, banana, plum, are present, from the yeasts.
