Anyone on of off out of here live in Edinburgh?

My niece has received an email from the University about accommodation - they've f**ked up and there is no accommodation for her (despite them being contractually obliged to provide a room, at least). They are talking about f**king bunk beds in shared rooms.

Not ideal.

What is the situation with private lets/shared houses etc etc? Best areas to live near the main campus? Rough guide on level of rents/ what's included etc.
