...they will let you play if you insist if they think you won't be a liability to the team - after all you are paid for it.

In my team if our physio tells me that a player should not play then I never ever let him play.

On the other hand if he tells me they can play without causing further damage to a minor injury and the player says they cannot then I leave them on the sideline but make a mental note of them being a right pansy.
