because Charlton was a respected left back for a good few years at Bolton, and had just missed out on a Carling Cup final win

It was a decent buy, but one where Worthington comprimised both Drury and Charlton by doing it

So, what was the point in buying him when Worthington was never going to drop Drury?

Hence, Charlton had a nothing spell here, out of position, and made to look a c**t, by a c**t
