What he has done is truly awful and shocking and his views are extremely extreme and wrong.
However, when I lived in Sweden and visited Norway several times I did find that many of the natives were secretly against the immigration flooding their countries and were dare I say it slightly racist. I visisted Oslo and I was shocked at just how many people there were there of middle eastern, north african and Somalian descent. Many of these people appeared to just hang around the city centre,some of them openly selling drugs outside the main bus station. I did not find Oslo a nice city (and many people I have met have felt the same) and it was largely due to the vibe about the place caused by the 'immigrants'. I would say that only 20% of the people I saw in Oslo were or appeared to be European. In some streets I was literally the only white person.
This guys views were extreme and what he didwas totally inexcuable. However, I found that the fear of immigration and of a multi cultural society was one held secretly by many Swedes and Norwegians. On the surface they like to project an image of being a liberal, free society that is open to immigration and multiculturalism but secretly they are against it.
