I'm about 3/4 of the way though the first book.

The series was really very faithful to the first half of the book - even to individual lines of dialog, but then started to cut stuff out - at about the point where Sean Beanses missus took the Dwarf hostage and put him on trial at the Eyrie. And started to invent some stuff too, to get away with cutting other stuff out.

On balance they did really really well - about a billion times better than most adaptations of books.

One of the actresses in it was a proper hardcore pornstar once - I read that in a newspaper, so it must be true.
