The reason we need a striker

Holt has scored the bulk of our goals this season. Our other strikers have all failed to be consistent in front of goal this season and have struggled. Therefore in the formation we play we could do with a striker who scores goals to play alongside Holt and shoulder some of the goalscoring burden.

We could sign 4 new defenders, it wouldn't matter as we would still concede goals due to the formation and system we play. The diamond often leaves defenders exposed when the full backs are forced to push up the pitch as they have no outlet directly in front of them (See Bristol City Goal last Monday).

Therefore, despite scoring as a team not being a problem but conceding too many being a slight concern, we can only alter one of these (By signing a new striker) without changing our system and style of play. Do you want us to change that system and style that has got us to second place? Football is not all about computer generated stats, tables etc, which may prove certain points as they dont take into consideration the small area of TACTICS!
